The evolution experienced by developed countries in recent decades, with the proliferation of industries, dramatic increase in the automotive fleet and public transportation, has led to increased pollution and, in particular the one produced by noise and vibrations. Nowadays, the noise, for its peculiar characteristics, is considered as an important form of pollution and a clear manifestation of poor quality of life. The consequences of environmental noise impact, both physiological and psychophysiological order are affecting more and more people and especially the inhabitants of large cities.
Therefore, different regulatory authorities are adapting this regulation, becoming more demanding in terms of emission control and transmission.
